John Dillinger America's Public Enemy No 1was shot and killed by police as he was leaving the biograph Cinema in Chicago, after having eluded the police for months. He had had his face altered by a surgical operation. Image shows Dillinger on the floor of a police patrol as he was taken to the mortuary after he had been killed.<br>US July 30th 1934.

In this lobby of the Little Bohemia Resort in Wisconsin near Mercer, John Dillinger and his outlaw pals lived for three days, holding the resort operators as virtually prisoners. Dillinger and his pals, including three women companions, played cards in this lobby and indulged in the other amusements of the little lodge until they were routed by Federal Agents April 23. Two men were killed and four were wounded in the gunplay as the desperadoes got away.

Where she was sentenced two years ago for harboring the notorious gangster. She said she intends to Go Straight the pauper's oath was necessary to release her from payment of a large fine.

The blood soaked seat of the car abandoned by the Dillinger gang a few miles South of St Paul Minnesota April 23. After their running gunfight with three Dakota County Deputy Sheriffs and a Hastings Patrolman. The bullet hole may be seen on the right side of the seat and the blood there lead officials to believe one of the gangsters had been seriously injured. 1st May 1934

Many hours after the desperado had vanished, police nets sieved the flow of motorists in hope of finding their quarry. 3rd April 1934
