0160079 - Sixteen British hikers had to run for their lives when a giant eruption sent lava flying from Mount Etna. The party fled half a mile down the volcano after their two Italian guides shouted a warning to run.
Lucy Newstead, 31, a geography teacher who took dramatic pictures of the escape said ' Lava bombs of molton rock suddenly started flying through the air. We were incredibly lucky because the wind was blowing in the opposite direction and the lava was going away from us'
